The Digital Business Analyst (Digital BA) is a modern variant of traditional business analyst roles with a particular focus on the opportunities that digital technologies can offer. A Digital BA supports the business in identifying and implementing improved operations, enhanced personalisation and customisation of customer journeys. The role has extended beyond systems analysis, with a particular emphasis on the insights offered by data analytics, and opportunities to enable excellent customer experience.
Practical core business analysis training, such as BCS Business Analysis Practice and BCS Requirements Engineering, is still as valuable as ever to the Digital BA, as any evolving solutions must align with business strategy and organisational change objectives. The Digital BA would also require capabilities in Data Literacy and Data Analytics. A background in thinking approaches, methodologies and techniques that are supportive of innovative solutions are equally important. IC Agile Product Ownership training would be of benefit to those transitioning into this role.
