Who was the client?

A major British mobile tele-communication company that operates a highly specialised network and service.

What was the problem?

The client recognised the need to develop the management and leadership skills within their organisation. It was widely acknowledged that the senior level was extremely proficient on a technical level, however there were significant inconsistencies in how this population addressed their people management responsibilities.

A woman stands with a tablet in a dimly lit server room, surrounded by rows of high-tech servers. Blue and purple light trails represent data flow, streaming from the servers and creating a dynamic, futuristic atmosphere.

What was the Expleo solution?

After listening closely to the challenges and opportunities the client faced, we designed and delivered a comprehensive leadership development strategy. This included all leaders attending a one-day leadership development masterclass, which was supported by the presence of a main board director. This event was rolled out to all management and leadership grades. Additionally, we designed and implemented a suite of 15 ‘Core Leadership Development Masterclasses’ to address both the collective and diverse needs of this population. These masterclasses provided the opportunity to develop a broad range of skills.

How did that help?

The leadership development masterclass played a crucial role in the client’s leadership development strategy by focusing on strategic discussions to empower individuals to embrace change and propose new ways of working. By having a main board member present, this ensured maximum engagement and impact, enriching the discussions and providing valuable insights to the participants. Our 15 Core Leadership Development Masterclasses provided practical tools and techniques to enhance leadership skills and served as the cornerstone for enhancing individual and collective leadership capability.

What were the results?

The implementation of this leadership development strategy resulted in:

  • Increased strategic thinking and decision-making abilities among participants, which incorporated developing strategic thinking, enhancing decision-making skills and promoting innovation and adaptability.
  • Enhanced communication effectiveness, leading to clearer and more persuasive communication.
  • Improved team leadership skills and strengthened teamwork. This included promoting a collaborative team culture, managing team dynamics and enhancing conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Better change management capabilities, promoting organisational resilience.
  • Enhanced performance management and coaching skills, driving individual and team performance.
