Designing & Delivering a Leadership Development Centre - A group of five professionals are engaged in a discussion in a bright office. One man in a gray suit is holding a laptop while another person shows charts and graphs. Large windows in the background let in natural light. They appear focused and collaborative.

Who was the client?

A major investment organisation in the financial services sector.

What was the problem?

The bank needed to align its leadership capabilities with the evolving market demands. The challenge was to identify and develop the skills necessary for leaders to effectively drive strategic changes required in pursuit of its fiveyear business strategy. To navigate these shifts successfully, they recognised the critical importance of having the right leaders, leading the right teams, with right skills set.

What was the Expleo solution?

Assessing the current state: We conducted an in-depth analysis of the bank’s existing leadership capability. This involved understanding their status and comparing it to the desired future position, relative to their five-year business strategy

Collaboration with HR and L&D Teams: Working closely with the HR director and senior Learning & Development (L&D) professionals, we produced a precise competency skills framework. This allowed us to map participants’ skills and behaviours against the bank’s future requirements.

Evidence-Based Approach: Our approach was robust and impartial. We gathered evidence through assessments, interviews, team-based scenarios and observations. This data formed the foundation for our subsequent analysis.

How did that help?

Individual insights: Our comprehensive report highlighted the strengths and areas for development of the top 40 leaders. Each leader received personalised feedback, enabling them to understand their relative standing within the peer group.

Strategic decision-making: Armed with this information, the bank’s leadership could make informed decisions about talent development, succession planning and organisational alignment.

What were the results ?

The outcome was a comprehensive report that served as the basis for creating individualised senior leaders’ personal development plans. These plans were tailored to address specific skill gaps and enhance leadership effectiveness.

Who else could benefit from this type of intervention?

For any organisation aiming to:

  • Clearly identify their top talent.
  • Gain clarity on the necessary personal development interventions.
  • Elevate their leaders’ performance to the highest level.
